The first in our series of deep cleaning posts focused on the living room, but this time around the Cleaning Ninjas want to discuss one of the hardest areas in the entire house to keep really and fully clean: the kitchen.
Dr. Charles Gerba, a microbiologist and professor at the University of Arizona, has done studies of kitchens and found some truly horrifying things. From spotting salmonella on about 10% of all wet sponges and dishcloths to finding more E. coli inside a dirty kitchen sink than a flushed toilet, the kitchen can be a hotbed for all sorts of disgusting germs. That is precisely why kitchen deep cleaning can not only make the room look nicer, but also can protect you and your family from germs and deadly diseases that sometimes come along with them.
So how would the Cleaning Ninjas go about deep cleaning a kitchen? The following is a look at the approach we most often take:
#1 Start with the Usual Stuff
You don’t have to know how to deep clean a kitchen to take care of the normal maintenance tasks before really digging in. Start by washing your dishes, emptying the dishwasher, and putting away any clutter that may be in the way of a deep cleaning.
#2 Clean Out the Cupboards & Drawers
As with most things, it’s often best to start high and work your way to the floor, which in this case means cabinets and then later drawers. We can not only wipe down cabinet and drawer faces, but we can remove everything from the shelves and drawers, wipe down those surfaces, and then return everything to their rightful places. The same can (and should) be done with your pantry, if you have one.
#3 Clean the Inside and Outside of Appliances
Next is the part that many people much prefer to leave to the pros. Your refrigerator, microwave, stove, and dishwasher all can get pretty gross if left unattended. Giving them a thorough cleaning inside and out can ensure food preparation and storage stays safe.
#4 Clean Sink(s) and Countertop(s)
Sinks, to put it mildly, are disgusting, and there are few things quite as satisfying as cleaning and sterilizing those surfaces to make sure the people using them aren’t contracting any diseases from the disgusting germs that lie therein. The countertops also will need a good scrubbing with an appropriate cleaner, and the professionals at the Cleaning Ninjas are adept at that, too.
#5 Sweep and Mop the Floors
Finally, after everything else has been finished, the last thing we’ll do is sweep and mop the floor. We can even get down on our hands and knees and scrub certain areas if the need calls for it, all in an effort to ensure that your kitchen is as squeaky clean as you’d like it to be.
Trust the Pros
Once the Cleaning Ninjas have done all that, you’ll have perhaps the cleanest kitchen you’ve ever cooked in. With all those germs circling at all times, allow professionals to get you back to a place where everything sparkles and is safe to store and prepare food. You (and your health!) will thank us.
